Coming Monday, Feb. 4th, “50 White Papers in 50 Days”

State BuildingWe are excited to announce that beginning Monday, Feb. 4th, NL will publish on our website the first of our “50 White Papers in 50 Days.” It will cover debt collection laws in Alabama and will be followed in alphabetical order by one paper each working day from an attorney or law firm in each state in the U.S. The papers will be available to all visitors who register on the NL website. Once visitors are registered on the site, they can go to this page, http://www.nationallist.com/white_papers, to access the white papers directly.  The “50 White Papers in 50 Days” will be a valuable reference source to creditors, debt collection agencies, debt buyers and and law firms who are seeking to file a claim out-of-state.

Blog on InsideARM

We are pleased to partner with InsideARM for this campaign. Also starting Feb. 4th, InsideARM will include a blog from NL in their daily newsletter promoting the “white paper of the day” and providing information about the author and law firm that submitted the paper.

Wide range of topics included

Some of the topics covered in the papers include, but are not limited to:

  • The laws regarding statute of limitations, written contracts, bad checks and civil penalties.
  • Debt collection licensing, bonding and other regulations relevant to  collections professionals and lawyers not licensed to practice within that state.
  • Practices related to commercial and consumer collections.
  • Costs related to court filing fees and process-serving options.
  • Significant cases brought by the State’s Attorney General and ethics opinions passed down from the State Supreme Court  related to debt collection.

Weekly updates

Each week, NL will keep you up-to-date by posting a blog on The NL Insider that lists the papers published the previous week, and that summarizes information about the authors and law firms responsible for researching and writing their state’s paper.

“The National List thanks all of our member attorneys who are participating in this project. Each lawyer selected is active in the debt collection industry and is a reliable and knowledgeable source of information. We encourage debt collection industry professionals to take advantage of this valuable resource.”
